Snacks made of food, whether a jello, with or without gelatin, softer, healthy—you’ll find each one by following these steps and instructions.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fruit puree (strawberry, mango, or mixed berries)
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, for flavor balance)

Before We Start

  • Choose your favorite fruits and blend them into a smooth puree.
  • Strain the puree if you want a smoother texture.
  • Lightly grease a silicone mold or line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  • We are gonna use gelatin, which most people don’t use, but it comes in various kinds. Also, it is halal if you buy plant-based, beef, or fish pork-free. It is available in local stores and marts as halal—you can ask for (Zyad Halal Gelatin, Halal Gelatin by Halal Pride, Agar-Agar for plant-based, and Pectin). Also, you can alter it with corn starch, China grass, or Falooda powder.

Instructions

Prepare the Gelatin

Step 1: Take a bowl, wash it first, add gelatin and water, and let it sit for 2-3 minutes.

Prepare the Fruit Puree

Step 2: Here are common fruits to help you make fruit puree: raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, apples, mangoes, peaches, and pears. (Who says to bring all of them? Anyhow, you can also use just 2 or 3.) Wash them.

Peel them. Remove pits or seeds from them. Grab a blender and blend until smooth. If it is too thick, add a little water to make it smooth. When it’s done, take it out and turn it into any container.

Even though you can strain it to make pulp puree—this helps remove seeds. If it is too liquidy, strain to make it puree.

Heat the Fruit Mixture

Step 3: Take a saucepan and keep it over low heat. Add fruit puree, honey, and lemon juice. Stir wisely for 2-3 minutes only until warm. Don’t boil.

Mix and Combine

Step 4: Add the bloomed gelatin to the warm fruit mixture and stir until thoroughly dissolved.

Pour and Set

Step 5: Transfer the mixture into any dish, mold, or silicone molds. Refrigerate it for at least 1-2 hours until combined.

Cut Them

Step 6: Take them out from the refrigerator and remove them from the molds, or cut them into shapes if using a baking dish.
